Each morning, I begin my day by drinking a warm cup of lemon water while I pack my kids' lunches. I do this to start hydrating for the day, as well as to get my digestive system up and running. The vitamin C and mineral content of lemons helps to cleanse my body of toxins, while also boosting my immune system, which we can all benefit from during the 'Back to School' season, am I right?<br />
<br />
Next up, is bus stop time. Getting the kids ready in the morning, finding shoes, packing their backpacks and getting them out the door is a workout in itself, but I also make sure that we leave in time to walk to the bus stop each morning. This includes a good 10 minute walk (more like a brisk speed-walk on the mornings we're running a little later) and once the kids are loaded on the bus, my littlest one and I take a stroll around the neighborhood with our cute little Jack Russell Terrier. That way, I've gotten a fun, active workout in while getting the dog walked and entertaining my busy 3-year-old. Finding time to stay physically active everyday is key!<br />

Meal planning for me is also key! If I don't prepare healthy meals ahead of time, then I'm much more likely to make unhealthy choices with my busy, on-the-go lifestyle. When most people hear the work "meal prep" they get overwhelmed, but honestly, it's super quick and easy, but it does involve... wait for it... PLANNING! I am always on Pinterest looking for new meal ideas and ways to save time on my prepping and planning. I also use Tupperware containers to portion them out and store them in the refrigerator for quick and easy access. And when in doubt, eat lots of veggies! That's my motto!<br />
<br />
And lastly, get your rest! With 4 kids, a good night's sleep is not always guaranteed, which is why I try my best to stick to a routine and get to bed at a decent time. The recommended sleep is 8 hours, but if we're being honest, that doesn't always happen. But the nights where I make sure to get in bed by 10:30PM, I wake up feeling more refreshed, have more energy to keep up with my kids and our busy schedule and I have more motivation to stay on track with a healthy lifestyle. <br />

<li>Heat oil.</li>
<li>Caramelize onions.</li>
<li>In separate pan, sauté mushrooms with balsamic vinegar.</li>
<li>Add onions to the mushrooms.</li>
<li>Season with salt and pepper.</li>
<li>Add garlic .</li>
<li>Add chicken.</li>
<li>Add chicken stock, Marsala, and white wine. Cook until reduced by half.</li>
<li>Add cream and bring to a boil.</li>
<li>Turn down heat and simmer to skim away any impurities.</li>
<li>Cook rigatoni al dente.</li>
<li>Add drained rigatoni to chicken mixture in pan and finish with basil-parsley mix, parmesan cheese, garlic butter, and salt and pepper.</li>
<li>Add more Marsala for flavor as needed.</li>
<li>Place in pasta bowl and garnish with parmesan shavings and chopped parsley.</li>

It's really super easy to make and doesn't take much time! The more you cook it, the better you get at it and the quicker you can get it all done. The most tedious part it getting out all the ingredients and doing all the measuring, but I'm at the point now where I've got it all memorized and can have my 4 year old hop up and help out! :)</div>

Who here struggles with finding the motivation to workout regularly? If this sounds like you, I can promise that YOU. ARE. NOT. ALONE!<br />

I'm an online health and fitness coach and help people with this problem each and every day... shoot, even I sometimes struggle with motivation, which is why I wanted to share my TOP 5 TIPS for GETTING MOTIVATED to WORKOUT (when you really don't feel like it):<br />
.<br />
So here goes nothing! I'm just going to jump right into my TOP 5 TIPS:<br />
.<br />
1. HAVE A PLAN!<br />
*Now when I say have a plan, I don't just mean plan to workout everyday. I mean actually have a very specific plan for WHAT workouts you will do on WHICH days of the week as well as know exactly WHEN you will schedule your daily workouts into your busy schedule each day and WHERE you will get them done at. You may think this is too detailed and not necessary, but I can promise you that if you have a calendar telling you exactly which workouts you will need to do each day and you make this workout a part of your daily routine, then you will be MUCH more likely to stick with it and stay motivated each day!<br />

2. HAVE A GOAL TO WORK TOWARDS!<br />
*Working out is something that many people start to do because they wish to reach a certain goal--whether it be a weight loss goal, a goal to get lean and tone up, lose the baby weight after giving birth... you name it! Everyone is unique and has their own personal goals, but being aware of these goals, writing it down and putting it on display somewhere where you will see it multiple times a day, is going to remind you of WHY you decided to workout regularly in the first time and will help keep you MOTIVATED to reach that goal! Make sure that your goals are S.M.A.R.T (Specific. Measureable. Attainable. Realistic. Timely.)<br />
.<br />
3. HAVE AN ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER!<br />
*This is such a great way to stay motivated! Think about it... if we didn't have a boss holding us accountable to show up for work everyday, we would be much more likely to slack off and skip days when we don't feel like doing the work. The same goes for working out. You're going to have days where you just aren't feeling it, but having an accountability partner to check in with each day will keep you motivated... especially when they check in with you first and ask if you've gotten your workout in yet. As a coach, I have found that most people's success with their workout programs, depend on their daily participation in my online support <br />
and accountability groups. Those who stay accountable are much more likely to see results and therefore even more motivated to stay consistent.<br />
.<br />
4. REWARD YOURSELF!<br />
*We've already talked about setting goals to get motivated, but another great way to STAY motivated is to reward yourself for staying consistent with your daily workouts and hitting those goals! It doesn't have to be anything crazy... Sometimes I will simply tell myself that if I get my workout in today, I will allow myself to have a glass of wine with dinner. Or those cute workout pants that I saw at Victoria's Secret, are all mine if I hit that weight loss goal by the end of the month. The bigger the goal that you hit, the better the reward! This gives you that motivation to work even harder.<br />

5. REMEMBER 'WHY' YOU STARTED:<br />
* One of the first things I ask the ladies in my online support and accountability groups, is WHY did you decide to make this positive change in your life? WHY is working out and living a healthy lifestyle something that you want or need to do? And I'm not just talking about reiterating those goals... (ie: "because I want to lose 15 pounds"). That's great, but WHY do you want to lose 15 pounds? Do you want to stop feeling insecure when you're with your kids at the swimming pool this summer? Does diabetes run in your family and you want to prevent yourself from having to deal with health issues that you've watched other loved ones struggle with? Do you want to be a positive role model for your children and set them up for a healthy life from the start? This is the most motivating of them all when you truly find your 'WHY'. I can just about guarantee that whenever you aren't feeling motivated, THIS will give you that boost <br />

I was exhausted, overwhelmed, I felt guilty because I wasn't the happy, energetic mommy that I had always envisioned being for my kids and I felt lost. So I did what I always do and I prayed to God to help me find my happiness again. I knew something needed to change, but I didn't know how or what it was that I needed to do... so I left it in God's hands and hoped for some kind of answer!</span></div>

I told her the same old excuse that I always had and was like, "look... I WISH I had the time to workout and learn how to meal plan and set all these goals for myself, but I have 3 kids at home and DON'T HAVE TIME!!" I literally couldn't find the time to shower most days, so working out everyday was a joke!</span></div>

ALL the workouts were only 25 minutes long! That's it! Okay... so the whole, "I don't have time excuse" was kind of out the window now. Because to be honest, after I put the kids to bed at 8pm every night, I sat up until 10 or 11PM watching The Kardashians or whatever other celebrity drama came on tv at that time. Hmmmm.... mayyybe I could find 25 minutes for me?! I didn't see how this was going to be as life-changing as I had hoped, but then she told me about something else that caught my interest!</span></div>
