From tired, lonely stay-at-home mom to happy, healthy, entrepreneur Super Mom!

This opportunity literally fell into my lap right when I needed it most! I was a stay-at-home mom of 3, not taking care of myself physically or emotionally and was constantly drained! 

I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I was trying to 
be a perfect mom, a perfect wife, have the perfect, clean house... I was taking care of everyone but myself... My breakfast was 3 cups of coffee and a ton of sugar, lunch usually consisted of eating the kids' leftovers and by dinnertime, I was too tired to cook most of the time and just ordered out. I tried going to the gym, but just getting the kids hauled in and out of the car and into childcare wore me out! 

I was getting depressed, out of shape, unhealthy and wasn't able to be the fun, energetic mom that I had always pictured myself being! I needed something for ME again! And low and behold... literally THE DAY after I had a breakdown, got down on my knees and prayed to God to help me find SOMETHING for ME again... I got a message from an old friend about joining her challenge group! She told me about how the workouts could be done from home, without the hassle of going to the gym and then she told me about the coaching opportunity! I was immediately intrigued and knew it the answer to my prayers! What did I have to lose? 

Now fast forward to today... I couldn't be 
happier! I am healthier, more active with my kids, have way more energy (yes, even being 8 months pregnant...) I'm able to help others and pay it forward and even able to contribute to my family's income with a weekly paycheck! Being able to buy my husband and kids Christmas presents with the money that I earned while still being able to be home with them everyday...was such an awesome feeling!

Healthy Snack Idea! The kids will love it! Frozen Yogurt Bark with Strawberrires and Pistachios

So I just ran across this while browsing Pinterest and I had to share with you all!!

*HEALTHY* Frozen Yogurt Bark 
with Strawberries & Pistachios

Looks pretty simple to make:


*non-fat vanilla yogurt (or whatever flavor you prefer)
*strawberries chopped
*pistachios chopped


*Mix all of your ingredients in a bowl
*Lay tin foil on a cookie sheet and spread the mix on top (if it doesn't fill the whole sheet, that's okay because you're going to be breaking it up afterwards anyways)
*Cover with plastic wrap and stick it in the freezer until it's frozen (I would recommend an hour MINIMUM, but just feel it out)
*Once completely frozen, crack it into pieces and ENJOY! :)

**And don't be afraid to play with the ingredients a little bit. I ran across a few recipes where they chose to use dark chocolate chips, blueberries, granola... use your imagination and try to keep it healthy and fun!

So, I was watching some tv this morning when my little Caitlin came up, grabbed my remote and started flipping through the channels... I finally snatched it back from her, but when I went to change my channel back, I couldn't help but hesitate and listen for a second... I ended up leaving it on the channel for the next 30 minutes and took in an amazing message that I thought I would share with all of you.

In honor of Throwback Thursday & College Graduations coming up...

In honor of Throwback Thursday (#tbt) and graduations coming up... I thought I would take a moment to share my own college graduation story:

As many of you may or may not know, my dream was to graduate from Virginia Tech, where I began my college education! But little did I know at the time, God had another plan for me and I got pregnant with my sweet little Pete. But I made the decision to keep pushing towards my goal to graduate college, moved to northern Va to live with my now husband and transferred to George Mason University! 

It was something that I always knew I would do for myself! As easy as it would have been to give up and choose not to go back to school, I was determined and driven and wasn't going to look back and have regrets one day! It wasn't easy... And it took some extra time, but I did it! 

When I finished my last class in August 2010, I was 8 months pregnant with Nathan! I actually received my diploma in the mail, the day that I got home from the hospital with him! My children and growing family have obviously been my number 1 priority, so I still need to find time to frame and hang my diploma... (Which has been hiding in my closet for the past 4 years) 

I think at one point, a part of me was almost embarrassed that it had taken me so long to achieve my bachelor's. Instead of really celebrating my hard work and achievement, I was comparing myself to all my fellow high school graduates who were receiving their Master's degrees in the time it took me just to get my Bachelor's. But now that I'm a little older, more confident in myself and proud of all of my amazing achievements-- including my beautiful family-- I figured I would look back at what I did and be proud to share my accomplishments!

Moral of the story is this: Don't ever give up on something that you have set out to achieve! You're almost always going to run into obstacles on your way, but whether you choose to give up or keep pushing yourself, is totally up to YOU and ONLY YOU!!

Monday Motivation. What is your "Why"? What motivates you to keep going when things get tough?

This is a post that I shared with one of my Health & Fitness Support/Motivation Groups today and I felt like I wanted to share it with all of you as well. 

Monday's Motivation: 

As a Beachbody coach, one of the first things we have to do is figure out our "why". Your "WHY" is what keeps you going when times get tough. It's that reason for refusing to quit, settle or sacrifice! It has played such a huge role in not only my physical health transformation over the last year, but also my mental state of mind! 

My "WHY" is my children and their future! In order to raise my kids with the faith, confidence, determination and guidance that they will need to get through this crazy, sometimes scary world... I need to set the bar for them and live by example! Kids learn what they live and live what they learn... 

I want my kids to learn that no matter how big your dreams may be, and how impossible they may seem... I'm here to not only tell them that they CAN live out their dreams, but to prove to them that they can do absolutely anything they put their minds to... by going after my own dreams and goals!

You have to have faith, believe in yourself and push even harder in those moments of doubt! That is what makes the difference between a dreamer and an achiever! They are my reason for being the best version of me that I can be! They are the reason I decided to get healthy, fit, and start my own business as a coach where I get to help other people start their own health & fitness journeys, reach for their goals and be an example to others that anyone can make a decision to do better for themselves!
